Hi, I’m Hayley
A BABCP-accredited CBT therapist and HCPC-registered occupational therapist with over 20 years’ experience supporting adults through complex life transitions. My work is grounded in evidence-based psychological approaches and delivered under statutory healthcare registration, ensuring safe and ethical care.
Roots, Resilience & Growth
I began my professional journey as an Occupational Therapist, where I specialized in Long term conditions such as Cardiac, Fibromyalgia, and Chronic Fatigue. During my time in these clinical settings, a pattern emerged: the deep-rooted impact of trauma on our physical well-being. I saw first hand how our internal emotional landscapes shape our outward recovery. This realization was my catalyst; I knew that to provide truly holistic care, I had to expand my toolkit to treat the psychological blocks, like trauma, OCD, and depression, that often keep us feeling 'stuck' in our bodies and our lives."
The Turning Point: Professional Meets Personal
My perspective shifted from professional to personal following a significant injury that left me navigating life with a long-term health condition.
This experience brought me face-to-face with my own anxiety and the challenge of managing a life that looked different than I had planned. It was a lived lesson in resilience. I didn't just need to "fix" my body; I needed to learn how to manage my mind, navigate uncertainty, and find a way to live a rich, meaningful life alongside a new reality.
Why I Retrained
This journey was the catalyst for my decision to retrain as a CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) Psychotherapist.
I realized that while my OT background gave me the tools for the world, CBT, ACT, and compassion focused therapy provided the map for the "inside" world. By combining my clinical expertise in physical health with specialized psychological training, I offer a unique, holistic approach. I understand, both clinically and personally, what it takes to build stability when the ground feels like it's shifting.
